Maitree super thermal power plant hosts vehicle noise level testing
On 11 November 2025, M/S Bureau Veritas (Bangladesh) Pvt Ltd carried out noise emission tests on sixty-seven vehicles at the 2×660 MW Maitree Super Thermal Power Plant (MSTPP) in Rampal.
All vehicles were found to be within the permissible limits under the Noise Pollution Control Rules 2006 of the Government of Bangladesh, which set maximum thresholds of 85 dB(A) at 7.5 metres and 100 dB(A) at 0.5 metres from the silencer.
The assessment—covering heavy, light, and hired vehicles—reflects MSTPP's continued commitment to environmental compliance and maintaining a noise-controlled, sustainable workplace.
