IUBAT honours researchers for publications
IUBAT hosted the 'Miyan Publication Reward 2026' to recognise academic and research excellence.
According to a press release, the university's conference room served as the venue for the ceremony.
Outstanding contributions to academic publishing led to faculty members and researchers being honoured.
Delivering the welcome address was Professor Dr Sajal Saha, director at the Miyan Research Institute.
Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Abdur Rab presided over the programme, with pro-vice-chancellor Professor Dr Md Mahmudur Rahman in attendance.
Professor Dr Dewan Muhammad Nuruzzaman, dean, Faculty of Engineering; Professor Dr Utpal Kanti Das, dean, School of Computer Science and Engineering; Professor Dr Mozaffar Alam Chowdhury, dean, Business School; Professor Dr Md Momtazur Rahman, registrar; and Brigadier General (retd) Dr Md Jahid Hossain, controller of examinations, were also present.
Also in attendance were other faculty members and researchers.
This year, 176 researchers were recognised for 690 research publications under the Miyan Publication Reward programme.
Of these, 257 were indexed in ISI journals, 192 in Scopus-indexed journals, 209 in Scopus conference proceedings and book chapters, five in Scopus books, and 27 in IUBAT Review articles.
Stating its ongoing commitment to enhancing research quality, IUBAT expects such recognition programmes to further motivate researchers to contribute in the future.
