Islami Bank, BPDB sign deal on prepaid meter recharge services
Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC has entered into a corporate agreement with the Bangladesh Power Development Board to facilitate prepaid meter recharge services through all Islami Bank channels, expanding convenience for electricity consumers.
The agreement was signed at Bidyut Bhaban in Dhaka on 2 July 2026.
Under the agreement, Bangladesh Power Development Board prepaid meter recharge services will be gradually made accessible through all branches, sub-branches, and agent outlets of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC, as well as its CellFin, iSmart, and mCash applications.
General Manager of Commercial Operation at the Bangladesh Power Development Board, Mohammad Nurul Abser, attended the signing ceremony as the chief guest.
Additional Managing Director, Doctor M Kamal Uddin Jasim of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC, and Director of the Prepaid Metering System Directorate, Md Ziaur Rahman of the Bangladesh Power Development Board, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
Executive Vice President Md Maznuzzaman and Assistant Vice President ANM Towhidul Islam of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC also attended the event, along with other senior officials from both organisations.
