ILLIYEEN targets Southeast Asia through D-8 halal exhibition
Bangladeshi luxury lifestyle brand ILLIYEEN has taken a significant step in its international expansion, showcasing its menswear and lifestyle products at the D-8 Halal Expo Indonesia 2026.
The inaugural D-8 exhibition took place at the Senayan Tennis Indoor Complex in Jakarta from 8–12 July 2026, bringing together businesses, policymakers and investors from member countries.
Representing Bangladesh's halal lifestyle retail segment, ILLIYEEN presented its signature thobes, footwear, leather goods and fragrances to an international audience.
"The global Muslim lifestyle and halal industry is evolving rapidly, and consumers are seeking products that combine quality, functionality and timeless design," Manager for Sales Planning and Operations Abu Adam said.
"Participating in the D-8 Halal Expo has allowed us to present our luxury brand on an international platform and connect with a broader Muslim consumer market," he added.
ILLIYEEN stated that its participation is part of ongoing efforts to explore business opportunities in Southeast Asia and expand its presence in the modest fashion and halal lifestyle markets.
The D-8 comprises Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Türkiye. Azerbaijan became the ninth member in 2025. The combined market covers more than 1.2 billion people.
Muslim consumers spent $2.43 trillion across major Islamic economy sectors in 2023, with spending projected to reach $3.36 trillion by 2028, according to Dinar Standard's State of the Global Islamic Economy Report 2024–25.
The report estimates that spending on modest fashion will rise from $327 billion to $433 billion in the same period.
