IFIC Bank supports women in technology advancement

As part of its ongoing nationwide initiative to promote women's empowerment in technology, IFIC Bank PLC donated two computers and a selection of educational books to the Bangladesh Female Academy (BFA) in Sunamganj.
The handover ceremony took place on Monday at the academy's conference room under the bank's special campaign titled IFIC Bank stands beside women in tech advancement. This initiative, launched in 2024, aims to equip female students with essential technological tools and prepare them for a future shaped by innovation.
The event was attended by Mr Jamil Chowdhury, Chairman of the Governing Body of Bangladesh Female Academy, who graced the occasion as chief guest. Also present were Ms Nazma Begum, Head Teacher of the academy, and other faculty members.
IFIC Bank was represented by Mr Rafiqul Islam, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Branch Business; Mr Abdul Quayum Chowdhury, Manager of the Sylhet Branch; Ms Fariha Haider, Head of Centralised Retail Marketing Division; and other bank officials.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Rafiqul Islam highlighted the bank's commitment to inclusive development and bridging the gender gap in digital literacy. "IFIC Bank believes that empowering young women with digital tools is key to shaping a more equitable and prosperous society," he said.
The campaign has already reached institutions across the Chattogram, Barishal, and Khulna divisions and will continue expanding into other regions in the coming months.
Officials of the academy expressed their gratitude for the support and stated that the equipment would greatly enhance students' access to learning and digital skills training.
