IFIC Bank organises financial literacy workshop in Sylhet
IFIC Bank has organised a special workshop on financial literacy in Sylhet under the guidance of Bangladesh Bank, as part of the Festival of Youth 2025.
The initiative aims to equip young people with basic banking knowledge, promote a habit of saving, and develop awareness of personal financial management.
The workshop, held on 4 November 2025 in collaboration with Sylhet Government Women's College, took place at the college auditorium.
The event was chaired by Professor Bhubanjoy Acharjee, Principal of Sylhet Government Women's College, while Khaled Ahmed, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank's Sylhet Office, attended as chief guest. Special guests included Shamsul Islam, Vice-Principal of Sylhet Government Women's College, and Khandakar Anwar Ehtesham, Head of Branding, Communications & Corporate Affairs at IFIC Bank.
More than 200 students participated in the session, which featured Fariha Haider, Head of Centralised Retail Marketing at IFIC Bank, as the resource person. She spoke about professional skill development, personal finance management, and adapting to future technological challenges.
IFIC Bank has been conducting year-round financial literacy programmes across both urban and rural areas, reaching diverse audiences through schools, colleges, and community institutions. These efforts aim to empower individuals with essential financial knowledge and promote a culture of responsible money management nationwide.
