IFIC Bank leads cashless Bangladesh campaign in Jashore
Under the initiative of Bangladesh Bank, with IFIC Bank PLC acting as the lead bank, a series of day-long programmes were organised in Jashore to expand activities under the Cashless Bangladesh Initiative.
The programme was held on Tuesday, 23 December, at the Jashore Software Technology Park. Arif Hossain Khan, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, attended the event as chief guest. The seminar was presided over by Rafeza Akhter Kanta, Director of the Payment Systems Department of Bangladesh Bank.
Special guests included Md Rukunuzzaman, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank's Khulna Office; Md Tawmeed Hasan, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate representing the district administration; and Syed Mansur Mustafa, Managing Director of IFIC Bank PLC.
The day's activities began with a public awareness rally, followed by a seminar on the Cashless Bangladesh Initiative at the technology park auditorium. Speakers discussed the objectives, implementation plans and benefits of digital transactions, while a question-and-answer session allowed participants to engage directly with the resource persons.
Later, practical demonstrations of QR code–based payment systems were conducted at booths set up by participating banks. The programme focused on increasing public awareness and adoption of digital transactions.
Senior officials of IFIC Bank, representatives of other banks and invited guests from various professional groups attended the event.
