HSBC unveils key trends in payments and treasury solutions in Bangladesh

The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) Bangladesh recently organised a "Digitise at Scale: Emerging Trends in Payments and Treasury Management Solutions" event.

The forum provided an opportunity to share insights and views on using digital tools to advance payments and treasury management processes. Arief Hossain Khan, Executive Director of the Payment Systems Department at Bangladesh Bank, along with other senior officials from Bangladesh Bank, the National Board of Revenue, and representatives from relevant customers of HSBC Bangladesh, graced the event.  

The event highlighted Treasury API and Host-to-Host, two transformative solutions tailored to meet the evolving needs of modern businesses. These tools provide real-time connectivity and seamless integration, enabling organisations to simplify processes and achieve greater financial agility. Lalit Shrimali, Senior Digital Manager, Wholesale Digital Channels, HSBC Asia Pacific, conducted the keynote session highlighting how these solutions can empower treasury management to keep pace with the rapidly changing global financial landscape.

A panel discussion occurred at the event on How digitisation at scale can be achieved for Payments and financial management processes with technological solutions. Distinguished panellists: Uzma Chowdhury, Director, PRAN-RFL Group; Selim H Rahman, Managing Director and Chairman, Hatil; Bibhabasu Sengupta, Country Head and Managing Director of Linde Bangladesh and Md Khairul Anam, Additional Director, Payment Systems Department, Bangladesh Bank provided their expert opinion in the panel discussion. Amit Chakrabarti, Head of Client Management, Global Payments Solutions, HSBC Bangladesh, moderated the panel discussion session. The panellists shared their views on how adopting digital tools and techniques can transform treasury management processes. Also, Bangladesh Bank's existing and near-future initiatives for promoting digitisation in the banking sector were discussed.

Speaking on the occasion, Arief Hossain Khan, Executive Director of the Payment System Department at Bangladesh Bank, added, "This significant event, organised by HSBC and focused on the theme "Digitise at Scale—Emerging Trends in Payments and Treasury Management," is a timely initiative that aligns with our national goal of fostering a robust and inclusive digital financial ecosystem in Bangladesh."

The event highlighted HSBC's continuous investment in developing innovative digital solutions that enable customers to execute banking transactions using state-of-the-art online banking systems.
