Green University to hold global ITD 2025 meet
Green University of Bangladesh is set to host the fourth International Conference on Innovation and Transformation for Development (ITD) 2025, aimed at fostering innovation, transformation and sustainable development through global academic and industry collaboration.
The conference seeks to promote intellectual discourse among academics, researchers, professionals and industry leaders.
Jointly organised by the Faculty of Business Studies and the Faculty of Law, the conference will take place on 27 and 28 November at the university's permanent campus in Purbachal American City, Dhaka.
The details were shared at a press conference held on Tuesday at the Shafiqul Kabir Auditorium of the Dhaka Reporters' Unity (DRU). The briefing highlighted Green University's commitment to research-based solutions, innovation and sustainable development.
This year's theme is "Advancing Sustainable Business and Law: Integrating Environment, Society, and Governance in Emerging Economies." Scholars, researchers and business experts from around the world will attend to share research, ideas, innovations and insights related to sustainable development.
According to the organisers, 192 research papers were submitted, of which 113 have been selected for presentation. The Department of Law alone submitted 58 papers.
The briefing was attended by Green University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Shorif Uddin as chief guest. Also present were Professor Dr Mohammad Tareque Aziz, Associate Professor Dr Md Aliur Rahman and Mashroor Mushtaq.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Shorif Uddin said, "By engaging academics, industry leaders and policymakers, we aim to expose our students to international research and practical knowledge, preparing them to contribute meaningfully to national and global development."
Convener of the fourth ITD Conference, Professor Dr Mohammad Tareque Aziz, said, "With participation from renowned teachers and researchers from Bangladesh and scholars from the United States, the United Kingdom and Japan, this conference will become a global platform for knowledge exchange. It will also create a rare opportunity for Bangladesh's emerging researchers and students to learn from global perspectives."
Across the two-day event, selected papers will be presented in multiple sessions. Keynote speeches, paper presentations and panel discussions will cover topics such as sustainable finance, ESG reporting, digital transformation, environmental law, AI ethics, human rights and corporate governance. The best papers will receive special awards, continuing the ITD series' tradition of recognising research excellence.
Participants will have the option to join the ITD 2025 conference virtually or attend in person on campus.
