Grameenphone, PalmPay launch Bangladesh’s first cardless EMI solution

Grameenphone, the country's leading telecom operator, has expanded its partnership with PalmPay to introduce Bangladesh's first cardless EMI solution for device bundle purchases. This enables customers to purchase smartphones with exclusive long-term data and voice packages through flexible monthly repayments, eliminating the need for a credit card.
The signing ceremony was held at GPHouse in Bashundhara, where Md Mahbubul Alam Bhuiyan, Senior Director and Head of Internet & Broadband at Grameenphone, and Chris Cheng, Chief Operating Officer of PalmPay Limited, signed the agreement on behalf of their organisations.
As part of the rollout, customers can choose between two long-term combo bundles—225GB with 4,500 minutes at Tk3,996 or 360GB with 6,300 minutes at Tk4,996—both valid for 270 days. The bundles are available exclusively through the PalmPay platform.
Selected smartphones from Itel, Tecno and Infinix can also be purchased on EMI through PalmPay retail partners or Grameenphone Centres. Monthly instalments are paid via the PalmPay app without affecting users' primary Grameenphone balances.
Grameenphone Chief Product Officer Solaiman Alam said the partnership integrates flexible financing with signature bundles, "reducing upfront cost barriers and enabling customers to stay connected for longer with greater value."
PalmPay Managing Director Jun Zeng Ethan said the initiative moves the platform "beyond smartphone financing to a model of digital financial inclusion," combining devices and service bundles in one affordable EMI plan.
