Free breast health screening at Evercare Chattogram
To mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Evercare Hospital Chattogram has launched a free breast health check-up programme to promote early detection and safeguard women's health.
The initiative runs until 31 October 2025, daily from 11am to 1pm.
Women can receive free breast examinations at the hospital's dedicated Breast Health Assessment Room, along with expert consultations, personalised risk assessments and guidance on follow-up care where necessary.
Professor Dr Sajjad Mohammad Yusuff, Visiting Senior Consultant, Department of Medical and Radiation Oncology, said:
'Breast cancer can often be detected early through self-examination and timely medical screening. Early detection saves lives. Awareness across all sectors and stronger hospital screening systems are essential. When our mothers and sisters are healthy, society as a whole becomes stronger', he said.
Hospital specialists noted that 12,000–14,000 women in Bangladesh are diagnosed with breast cancer annually, many at advanced stages. Raising awareness and expanding access to screening are vital to reversing this trend.
Evercare Hospital Chattogram continues to lead community health initiatives, offering advanced diagnostics, specialised oncology care and year-round preventive health programmes that encourage early screening and proactive wellbeing.
