Evercare hospital holds free paediatric cardiac camp in Narsingdi
The Department of Paediatric Cardiology at Evercare Hospital Dhaka, the country's first JCI-accredited hospital, has organised a two-day free medical camp to provide lifesaving cardiac treatment for children in Narsingdi and surrounding areas.
The initiative reflects Evercare Hospital Dhaka's commitment to delivering world-class medical care to children of all backgrounds.
The camp was held on 28–29 November 2025 at Bhaterchar Government Primary School in Belabo, Narsingdi. Senior Consultant and Coordinator of Clinical and Interventional Paediatric Cardiology, Dr Tahera Nazrin—also the founder of the paediatric cardiology departments at Evercare Hospitals in Dhaka and Chattogram—provided day-long outdoor services, offering free consultations and performing 2D and Colour Doppler echocardiography for more than one hundred children with heart conditions.
Dr Sohail Ahmed, Senior Consultant at the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery Department of Evercare Hospitals (Dhaka and Chattogram), was also present to advise patients requiring surgical intervention. The camp was inaugurated by Narsingdi Civil Surgeon, Dr Syed Amirul Haque. Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer, Dr Khan Nooruddin Md Jahangir; former Bhaterchar Upazila Chairman, Abu Tarik M A Al-Hussain; and paediatric cardiology doctors from Evercare Hospital Dhaka, along with other local dignitaries, attended the event.
As part of its commitment to accessible healthcare, Evercare Hospital Dhaka's Paediatric Cardiology Department arranged the camp to ensure that children with congenital heart diseases received proper diagnosis and timely care. Paediatric echocardiography was conducted using advanced equipment to evaluate cardiac conditions. The team also provided assistance with doctor appointments, pre-admission procedures, and patient transfers for advanced treatment at Evercare Hospital Dhaka. The department offers free devices, balloons, and essential medical guidance to support children requiring cardiac intervention.
Clinical and Interventional Paediatric Cardiologist, Dr Tahera Nazrin, said: "The incidence of congenital heart disease globally is about eight to twelve per thousand live births. In our country, treatment remains insufficient compared to the need. The Paediatric Cardiology Department of Evercare Hospital is tirelessly providing medical care to children of all backgrounds suffering from heart disease. We are especially committed to providing world-class services free of charge to underprivileged children. We appeal to both the public and private sectors to join us in this heartwarming mission."
