EBL signs bancassurance deal with City Insurance
Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) has signed a bancassurance agreement with City Insurance PLC to broaden customer access to insurance solutions via EBL's banking network nationwide.
The agreement was signed at EBL's head office in Dhaka by M Khorshed Anowar, Deputy Managing Director, Head of Retail and SME Banking, and Chief Bancassurance Officer, EBL, and AKM Mohiuddin, Additional Managing Director and Head of Business Development, City Insurance.
Under the partnership, EBL customers will have access to a range of non-life insurance products to meet personal and business risk protection needs. The two organisations stated that the collaboration will combine EBL's nationwide distribution network with City Insurance's non-life expertise to enhance customer convenience, strengthen risk awareness, and offer value-added solutions.

They also noted that the alliance aims to support a more inclusive and resilient financial ecosystem by helping individuals and businesses safeguard assets and improve financial well-being.
Also present at the signing were Sarmin Atik, Head of Liability and Wealth Management, and Md Raquib, Head of Bancassurance and Student Banking, EBL; and Mohammed Ashaduzzaman Sarkar, Company Secretary, and Sheikh Azizul Haque, Chief Financial Officer, City Insurance.
