EBL partners with Proyash to support children with special needs
Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) has signed a strategic partnership agreement with the Proyash Institute of Special Education, aiming to bolster infrastructure for children with special needs.
As part of the initiative, Ziaul Karim, Head of Communications and External Affairs and Head of CSR Desk at EBL, handed over a cheque to Colonel Md Altaf Ali, psc, Executive Director and Principal of the Proyash Institute of Special Education, at a ceremony held at the bank's head office in Dhaka.
Proyash is a non-profit charitable institution run by the Bangladesh Army under the guidance of the Chief of Army Staff. The organisation focuses on holistic development for children with special needs, offering inclusive and equitable quality education, skill-based training, extra-curricular activities, therapeutic services, and other developmental initiatives.
Ziaul Karim commented, "Proyash Institute has played a vital role in supporting children with special needs through therapy, vocational assistance, and skill-based training, helping them become active members of society. We are pleased to support this important initiative."
Colonel Md Altaf Ali added, "With EBL's support, Proyash continues to empower individuals with special needs by developing essential skills, improving employability, and fostering social acceptance, enabling them to live with dignity and become valued members of society."
Other attendees included Vice Principal Afroza Sultana, HR In-charge Kawsari Warda, and Head Teacher Sultan Ahmed from Proyash; and Company Secretary Md Abdullah Al Mamun, FCS, Head of Administration Maj Md Abdus Salam, psc (Retd), and Head of Business Information Systems Md Maskur Reza, FCA from EBL.
