EBL joins Bangladesh Bank’s cashless campaign

A seminar followed at Narayanganj Club.
Arif Hossain Khan, executive director, Bangladesh Bank, attended as chief guest.
Md Sakhawat Hossain, additional deputy commissioner (development and human resource management), and Md Hashinuzzaman, additional superintendent of police, Narayanganj, attended as special guests.
ANM Moinul Kabir, director, Payment Systems Department-1, Bangladesh Bank, chaired the seminar.
M Khorshed Anwar, deputy managing director and head of retail and SME banking, Eastern Bank, represented the bank.
The seminar featured discussions on expanding digital transaction systems and advancing a cashless economy.
Bangladesh Bank presented the objectives, progress, and future roadmap of the 'Cashless Bangladesh Initiative'.
Speakers highlighted the benefits and security of digital payments and their role in driving financial inclusion.
During the open discussion, participants shared real-life experiences with digital payment systems, while officials addressed their questions and concerns.
After the seminar, participants visited local markets to observe digital transaction practices at the grassroots level.
