EBL holds discussions with visiting French delegation to attract FDI

Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) hosted a high-level delegation from the Regional Economic Department for India and South Asia under the French Embassy in India, reaffirming France's commitment to enhancing financial and economic collaboration with Bangladesh.
The delegation was led by David Karmouni, South Asia Regional Financial Adviser and Deputy Head of the Regional Economic Department, who also represents Banque de France in the region. He was joined by Elea Pons, Regional Financial Deputy Adviser, and M Yann Riegel, Deputy Head of the Economic Department at the Embassy of France in Dhaka.
During the visit, the delegation engaged in in-depth discussions with EBL's senior officials on Bangladesh's evolving banking landscape, the country's investment climate, and financial sector reforms. The dialogue highlighted prospects for greater bilateral collaboration in areas such as sustainable finance, trade facilitation, and economic innovation.
Ahmed Shaheen, Additional Managing Director, represented EBL; Riad Mahmud Chowdhury, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Corporate Banking; Mehdi Zaman, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Treasury, Financial Institutions and Offshore Banking; and Ziaul Karim, Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Communications and External Affairs, among others.
The visit reflects a shared interest in deepening financial ties and knowledge exchange between France and Bangladesh in an increasingly interconnected economic environment.
