Dhaka Bank promotes youth empowerment through financial literacy
Dhaka Bank PLC successfully organised a "Financial Literacy and Career Counselling Programme for the Youth" on 26 October 2025, at Lalmatia Government Mohila College, Dhaka.
The interactive session, led by Md Mostaque Ahmed, Deputy Managing Director of Dhaka Bank PLC, focused on financial discipline, savings habits, and early career planning. The session drew enthusiastic participation from female students, who engaged in open discussions on how to manage personal finances and prepare for future careers.
Professor Jahanara Zaman, Principal of Lalmatia Government Mohila College, presided over the event and praised Dhaka Bank for promoting financial literacy and career awareness among young women.
Representing Dhaka Bank PLC, H M Mostafizur Rahman, SEVP and Head of Retail Business Division; Md Shofiur Rahman, SVP, Human Resources Division; Mohammad Riad Hasan, SVP and Manager, Dhanmondi Model Branch; and Mohammad Saifur Rahman, Head of Student Banking, attended the programme. Muhammad Nazmul Haque, Vice Principal of the college, was also present.
Following the session, a Student Banking Booth was inaugurated on the college premises, offering students instant digital account opening facilities and introducing Dhaka Bank's youth-focused banking services.
The initiative aims to inspire students to develop smart financial habits, enhance financial literacy, and gain a deeper understanding of banking and entrepreneurship—empowering them to become financially confident and career-ready leaders of the future.
