Community Bank initiates training on Islamic banking practices

Community Bank Bangladesh PLC has launched a certificate course, "Islamic Banking & Shariah-Compliant Financing (IBSCF)," to prepare for a dedicated Islamic banking window, pending regulatory approval.
Mr Kazi Md Fazlul Karim, BPM (Sheba), DIG (Admin), Bangladesh Police, attended the inaugural session, commended the initiative, and highlighted its long-term significance.
Mr Kimiwa Saddat, Managing Director (Current Charge), affirmed the Bank's commitment to inclusive, ethical banking and called the training a critical step toward Shariah-compliant services.
Mr Aftab Uddin from the Bangladesh Bank led the first session of the 10-day training course. He praised Community Bank for proactively investing in internal capacity building and ensuring strict adherence to Shariah principles.
This initiative aligns with the Bank's vision to serve a broader segment of the population by providing values-driven, transparent, and compliant Islamic banking services.
