City Bank marks new milestone with its first ESG report

City Bank PLC has published its inaugural Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, 'Bank on Solidity, Banking on Sustainability', marking a significant milestone in the bank's sustainability journey.
Building on its previous sustainability reports, City Bank has released this comprehensive ESG publication, aligning it with global frameworks, including the GRI Standards, IFRS S1 and S2, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The report demonstrates City Bank's commitment to integrating sustainability into its core business strategy. It highlights how the bank advances green and sustainable finance by investing in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and waste management, as well as by incorporating Environmental and Social Risk Management (ESRM) into its lending practices.
The report also details how City Bank promotes financial inclusion, supports women entrepreneurs, facilitates SME financing, undertakes corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, and tracks the bank's greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions—underscoring its commitment to transparency and accountability.
