Citizens Bank posts strong growth, outlines 2026 strategy
Citizens Bank PLC held its Annual Business Conference 2026 on 17 January 2026 at a resort in Munshiganj.
Chowdhury Mohammed Hanif Shoeb, Chairman of the bank, attended the conference as chief guest and provided strategic guidance aligned with the bank's mission and vision. S.M. Shofiqul Hoq, Director, and A.K.M. Shahidul Haque, Independent Director, were also present and addressed the gathering.
Alamgir Hossain, Managing Director of Citizens Bank, presented an overview of the bank's business performance in 2025, highlighting strong deposit growth, improved asset quality, controlled non-performing loans, and a robust compliance culture. He also cited the bank's capital adequacy, corporate governance, and solid financial base.
According to the presentation, Citizens Bank recorded 21% growth in operating profit in 2025. Deposits increased by 30%, advances rose by 34%, while the non-performing loan ratio stood at 0.20%.
Alamgir Hossain also outlined the bank's strategic action plan for 2026, focusing on business expansion, enhanced operational efficiency, accelerated digital banking initiatives, expansion of the business network, and the introduction of innovative, customer-centric products and services.
Deputy Managing Directors Md Mostafizur Rahman and Md Abdul Latif, along with divisional heads and branch managers from across the country, participated in the conference and shared insights on various operational and strategic issues.
