BUP finance society is set to launch the fifth edition of Capitaliser

Bangladesh's financial sector has made impressive strides over the past decade.

Yet, for many undergraduates, transitioning from classroom theory to real-world financial decision-making remains a significant hurdle. To address this, BUP Finance Society is set to launch the fifth edition of Capitaliser, a competition designed to bridge this gap and sharpen students' investment acumen.

First introduced in 2018, Capitaliser has become one of the country's leading investment strategy competitions. Simulating real-world investment challenges offers participants a rare opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in high-stakes scenarios, equipping them with skills essential for navigating today's financial landscape.

The competition unfolds over three rounds, each crafted to reveal different facets of financial judgment. In Round 1: Crack the Case, teams analyse a detailed business scenario that calls for careful insight and strategic thinking. Round 2: Deal Behind The Bars tests participants' ability to manage financial challenges and make sound decisions under constraints. The concluding round, Capitalise It Beyond, asks finalists to articulate a clear and persuasive growth strategy that aligns long-term goals with current market trends.
The official timeline for Capitaliser 2025 has been announced. Registration closes on 29 May, marking the deadline for teams hoping to compete in this year's highly anticipated business strategy showdown.

The competition will formally commence with Workshop I on 31 May, followed by the first competitive segment—Round 1: Crack the Case—scheduled for 1 June. This initial round will test participants' analytical acumen and problem-solving abilities in real-world business scenarios.
Subsequent stages include Workshop II on 14 June, providing further mentorship and guidance for advancing teams. The Semi-finals are slated for 16 June, narrowing the field to the top finalists who will contend in the following climactic events.

The Grand Finale, Capitalise It Beyond, will be held on 23 June. It will bring together the best teams for the ultimate strategic face-off. A Final Presentation and Closing Ceremony will occur on 28 June, during which winners will be announced and awarded.
Recognising the scale and prestige of the event, Capitaliser 2025 boasts a substantial prize pool of BDT 3,00,000, underscoring the competition's commitment to rewarding excellence in business innovation and strategy.

These prizes reflect the organisers' continued effort to provide a competitive platform and meaningful incentives for future business and entrepreneurship leaders.

The grand finale of Capitaliser 2025 is set to unfold at the prestigious Le Méridien Dhaka, where the top teams will battle it out in an intense showdown of strategy and intellect. With industry experts and corporate leaders in attendance, this round promises high stakes, sharp analysis, and a showcase of the country's brightest investment minds—all competing for the ultimate title and a share of the impressive prize pool.
