BUFT expands support for international students
BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) is positioning itself as a rising destination for international higher education, expanding student support facilities at its Dhaka campus to attract a growing number of overseas learners.
Students from countries including Italy, China, Nigeria, India, and Sri Lanka are already enrolled, underlining BUFT's growing global appeal, the university said in a statement.
BUFT has introduced a structured international admissions system aligned with national academic standards, with two intakes annually for overseas applicants.
The online admissions process is supported by visa guidance and personalised assistance. Newly admitted international students receive airport reception to ensure a seamless transition into campus life.
Beyond admissions, BUFT has focused on building a supportive and convenient environment for international students.
International students have access to citywide transport services, an on-campus medical centre for primary healthcare, and scholarships awarded on academic merit.
The campus, located near Uttara Model Town, offers easy access to housing, dining, and daily necessities.
Recognising the importance of cultural adaptation, BUFT encourages international students to learn basic Bangla and is introducing language support programmes to aid integration.
BUFT maintains an equal tuition policy for local and international students, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive education.
Abdullah, a student from Nigeria, said BUFT's reputation for quality education, modern facilities, and international student support influenced his decision to enrol.
He said studying at BUFT would help him gain valuable skills, global exposure, and a strong academic foundation for the future.
With industry-focused programmes, comprehensive student services, and a multicultural campus, BUFT continues to attract learners from Asia, Europe, and Africa, reinforcing its role as an emerging hub for international education in Bangladesh.
