BRAC Bank, bKash collaborate to streamline SME digital transactions

BRAC Bank has partnered with bKash Limited to offer automated cash management services to the mobile financial service provider's extensive network of agents, distributors, and merchants across the country.

Under the agreement, bKash agents and distributors who maintain accounts with BRAC Bank can now instantly purchase e-money for their bKash wallets using funds from their SME current accounts. They can also convert e-money into bank deposits round the clock—removing the need for manual cash handling and reducing operational risk.

The agreement signing ceremony was held on 28 May 2025 at the BRAC Bank head office. Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, Managing Director and CEO (Current Charge) of BRAC Bank, and Kamal Quadir, CEO of bKash, attended the event. Also present was Syed Abdul Momen, Additional Managing Director and Head of SME Banking at BRAC Bank.

The collaboration is set to benefit bKash's network of over three lakh agents and distributors nationwide, bolstering the country's shift toward digitised financial transactions.

"This partnership is a strategic move to strengthen our digital infrastructure and support businesses in shifting from manual to automated processes with greater ease," said Syed Abdul Momen. "As financial transactions become increasingly digitised, our role as a transaction bank must evolve to meet customer needs at scale."

Kamal Quadir added, "We are working to create a cashless, connected economy where agents and businesses can manage funds with speed, security, and simplicity. Partnering with BRAC Bank strengthens that vision by enabling secure digital transactions through a trusted banking channel."

The initiative marks another milestone in BRAC Bank's journey to become the most preferred transaction bank in Bangladesh, particularly for the SME sector.
