Brac Bank appoints Asif Bin Idris as deputy managing director
BRAC Bank has appointed Md Asif Bin Idris as Deputy Managing Director (DMD) and Head of Corporate, Commercial and Institutional Banking, effective 30 December 2025. He will also serve as a member of the bank's Management Committee.
With over 22 years' banking experience, Asif brings expertise in strategic leadership, portfolio management, and business transformation. Prior to joining BRAC Bank, he served as Senior Executive Vice-President and Head of Commercial Banking at Prime Bank. He has also held key positions at HSBC and Eastern Bank, contributing to business growth and client development.
Commenting on the appointment, Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, Managing Director and CEO of BRAC Bank, said Asif's sector knowledge and leadership experience would strengthen the bank's corporate, commercial, and institutional banking segments. He added that Asif's experience in building resilient portfolios and client-centric platforms aligns with the bank's growth strategy.
Asif holds a Master of Bank Management (MBM) from the Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM) and a Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) from the University of Rajshahi. He has also completed specialised international programmes in banking and credit risk management.
