Bank Asia marks financial literacy day with nationwide initiatives
Bank Asia PLC observed 'Financial Literacy Day 2026' on 2 March 2026 by organising a series of initiatives in line with Bangladesh Bank directives, the bank stated.
To mark the day, the bank held a nationwide virtual meeting with officials. Managing Director Sohail R K Hussain spoke as the keynote speaker, while Deputy Managing Director Ziaul Hasan, Head of Agent Banking and CRM, presided over the session.
As part of the day-long observance, Bank Asia organised financial literacy programmes for remittance customers in Chattogram, Feni, Cumilla, Narayanganj, Narsingdi, and Tangail under a UNCDF-funded project. The bank stated that the initiative aims to raise awareness of safe and secure remittance practices.
The bank also shared financial literacy content on its social media platforms and screened audio-visual materials at various locations to promote responsible financial behaviour.
Bank Asia stated that it has long run financial literacy programmes targeting underserved communities and groups outside the formal banking network. It stated that it has provided direct training to 188,500 customers and has indirectly reached about 1.5 million people with awareness on banking operations, products, and services.
