Bangladesh takes top honour at Global Entrepreneurship Congress 2025

Bangladesh has won the Best Country Award at the Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC) 2025, held in Indianapolis, USA, marking a historic milestone in the country's journey toward becoming a global leader in entrepreneurship and innovation.
Competing against 200 countries, Bangladesh was recognised for its outstanding progress in nurturing entrepreneurship, driving innovation and developing a resilient startup ecosystem.
Dr Md received the award. Sabur Khan, Chairman of GEN Bangladesh, and K. M. Hasan Ripon, Managing Director of GEN Bangladesh, during the GEC 2025 Award Ceremony.
"This award is a recognition of our youth, startups, women entrepreneurs and ecosystem builders working tirelessly to build the future of Bangladesh. We are proud to represent our nation on this global stage," said Dr Sabur Khan.
The achievement highlights the pivotal role played by GEN Bangladesh in partnership with Daffodil International University, Bangladesh Venture Capital Limited and other ecosystem enablers. Key initiatives, such as GEN Campus Dhaka, Smart Accelerator Programmes, SheMeansDigital, and Bangladesh's active participation in the Entrepreneurship World Cup, have established the country as a model for inclusive and sustainable entrepreneurship.
The Global Entrepreneurship Congress is an annual flagship event hosted by the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN). It brings together thousands of entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers and thought leaders from across the world to celebrate innovation and shape the future of entrepreneurship.
This global recognition is expected to drive further collaboration, innovation and investment in Bangladesh's startup ecosystem, reinforcing the country's emergence as a regional hub for entrepreneurial growth.
