Bangladesh to host qualifying round of International AI Olympiad 2026

Dhaka will host the Bangladesh qualifying round of the International Artificial Intelligence Olympiad (IAIO) 2026 on 6 October 2025 at the Institute of Information Technology (IIT), University of Dhaka.
Students from Class 6 up to HSC 2025 or equivalent, and polytechnic students up to the 4th semester, are eligible to participate. The competition aims to give young Bangladeshi students the opportunity to showcase their skills on a global stage.
Artificial intelligence (AI), one of the most transformative technologies of the 21st century, is driving changes across healthcare, education, agriculture and business. Students will demonstrate their creativity and technical talent through a five-hour challenge hosted on the Kaggle platform, solving real-life problems in machine learning, natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision.
Top performers will be invited to a special training camp for international-level mentorship. The best competitors will join the national team to represent Bangladesh at the IAIO 2026 in Slovenia.
The event is being organised by Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN). Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) is the platinum sponsor, with Brain Station 23, Intelligent Machines and Creative IT Institute as supporting partners. Rokomari, Kishor Alo and Biggyanchinta are also associated as event collaborators.
