Akij Ceramics unveils augmented reality tool for interior design
Akij Ceramics has launched its next-generation augmented reality app, Akij Ceramics AR Studio, during Ceramic Expo Bangladesh 2025 at the Akij Ceramics Pavilion.
The platform, described as the first of its kind in the country's ceramics sector, aims to transform how consumers, architects and designers visualise interior spaces.
With this launch, Akij Ceramics has taken a major step towards advancing digital adoption in Bangladesh's ceramics industry. The AR Studio app is now accessible on mobile devices, allowing users to preview tiles, surfaces and design combinations in real time.
Powered by AR and 3D technology, the app enables users to view tiles directly in their actual spaces through their phone cameras, reducing uncertainty in the selection process. Users can explore and experiment with design variations to see how each option would look in homes or project sites.
Key features include an AR viewing mode for real-time previews, a 3D room try-on mode using preset interior layouts, an image try-on mode for applying tiles to uploaded photos, and a smart measurement tool to calculate tile requirements. The app also provides access to Akij Ceramics' full tile collection, with comparison and save options to support decision-making.
Suitable for both homeowners and industry professionals, AR Studio allows architects and designers to present realistic concepts while offering clients an interactive design experience.
The Akij Ceramics AR Studio app is now available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
