AIUB marks Bangla new year with colourful Boishakhi Utsab
American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB) celebrated Bangla New Year 1433 with 'AIUB Boishakhi Utsab 1433' at its permanent campus, highlighting the nation's rich heritage and cultural vibrancy.
The campus became a lively hub of colour, tradition, and festivity, reflecting Bengali culture.
The celebration included Baul songs, folk music, band performances, a traditional rural fair, and a cultural programme by the AIUB Performing Arts Club (APAC).
Students set up vibrant stalls and exhibitions showcasing rural Bengali traditions.
The fair displayed Bangladeshi food, handicrafts, clay toys, jute products, and folk heritage.
The campus was decorated with colourful alpana and Pohela Boishakh-themed motifs, enhancing the festivities.
Nadia Anwar, Founder Member and Chairperson of AIUB's Board of Trustees, formally inaugurated the event.
Notable attendees included AIUB Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Saiful Islam, Board of Trustees members, deans, faculty, officials, and students.
Live performances by Habib Wahid, Pritom Hasan, and Warfaze were major highlights, drawing enthusiastic audience responses.
Dr Hasanul A Hasan and Ishtiaque Abedin, Founder Members of the Board of Trustees, attended along with other board members.
AIUB continues to lead in promoting and preserving Bangladesh's heritage, fostering stronger ties between youth and tradition.
