Agricultural Olympiad season 4 launches to inspire young agriculturists
"Youth in Action, Smarter Farming in Motion" with this motto, the Bangladesh Agricultural Olympiad (BAO) has launched the fourth season of its national competition, powered by iFarmer Asia.
The Bangladesh Agricultural Olympiad is an initiative aimed at inspiring young people to pursue careers in agriculture and develop future agricultural leaders to ensure sustainable food and nutrition security. BAO began operations in 2020 as the country's first agricultural platform dedicated to youth and aspiring agriculturists. Since then, it has organised a series of visually engaging and educational events to promote agricultural awareness nationwide. Continuing this effort, BAO has now launched "Agricultural Olympiad Season 4".
Students enrolled in undergraduate programmes, internships, or master's programmes aged not more than 25 are eligible to participate. The competition features nine categories: agriculture; livestock production; animal health and medicine; fisheries; agricultural innovation and technologies; food and nutrition; agribusiness and agricultural economics; biotechnology and genetics; and climate and environmental science.
In addition to the powered-by sponsor iFarmer, the associated partners for this season include Pran, Kazi and Kazi Tea, The Front Page, 96.4 Spice FM, Fresh Ananna, Unique Kenakata, The Daily Kaler Kantho, Nagorik Television, The Business Standard, Dhaka Post, Manola, Krishi Shwapno, World Food Forum Bangladesh, Bangladesh Poultry and Fish, Agrilife24, and TBS Graduates.
Online and offline registration — including spot campaigns at several universities will continue throughout the month and will remain open until 30 December.
