Actionaid Bangladesh holds 13th AGM

The 13th Annual General Meeting of ActionAid International Bangladesh Society (AAIBS) was held in Dhaka in hybrid mode on Wednesday (14 May), with the Executive Board and General Assembly members participating from various parts of the country and abroad.

Two individuals were elected to the Executive Board, while nine others were elected to the General Assembly during the meeting. Farhadur Reza and Raisa Gias, FCA, were elected to the Executive Board. Nurun Nahar Mozumdar, Suraya Akter, Rexona Khatun, Nipa Akter, Anwara Begum, Rambhojon Kairy, Jannatul Mouwa, Nurul Alam Masud, and Fariha Sultana Aumi were elected to the General Assembly.
The General Assembly Members approved the Annual Audit Report 2024 during the Annual General Meeting (AGM). In addition to reviewing the major activities and achievements of the past year, the session also included discussions on the organisation's upcoming and future activities.

New members were welcomed by the Chairperson of ActionAid International Bangladesh Society, Ibrahim Khalil Al-Zayad, who said that each of them now holds an integral role within the organisation. He expressed confidence that the new board members would further advance ActionAid's mission, vision, and values, and strengthen the Society's governance through their expertise and commitment.

Farah Kabir, Country Director of ActionAid Bangladesh and Ex-Officio Secretary of AAIBS, expressed her gratitude to the Executive and General Assembly members for their contributions to strengthening internal governance and accountability. She stated that AAIBS has successfully built an inclusive and democratic model by bringing together grassroots representatives, youth and experienced individuals within its leadership.

Special guests Belinda Morrissey, Executive Board Member of AAIBS and Chair of ActionAid Australia, and Kristina Stefanova, Board Director of ActionAid Australia, attended the meeting.
