AAUB holds 17th syndicate meeting

The 17th Syndicate meeting of Aviation and Aerospace University, Bangladesh (AAUB), was held on 21 August 2025 at the Dhaka campus conference room, presided over by Vice-Chancellor Air Vice Marshal A K M Manirul Bahar, OSP, BSP, ndc, hdmc, afwc, psc, ADWC.
At the meeting, a condolence motion was unanimously adopted in honour of the pilot, students, parents, teachers, and staff who lost their lives in the recent tragic aircraft crash at Milestone School and College in the capital's Diabari area. The meeting also resolved to provide support to the affected families and monitor the recovery progress of those injured.
In his opening remarks, the Vice-Chancellor expressed gratitude and extended greetings. He emphasized the need for enhanced skills and innovation in response to the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He reaffirmed that AAUB aims to foster an academic environment that produces leaders in space research and supports national economic and technological progress.
The Vice-Chancellor highlighted the Syndicate as the university's highest strategic platform and stressed that collaborative efforts will advance AAUB as a hub for aviation and aerospace education. He thanked the Ministry of Education, University Grants Commission, Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, and the Bangladesh Air Force for their continued support.
He presented a summary of the activities implemented and the progress made since the 16th Syndicate meeting, held on 20 March 2025.
The meeting discussed all agenda items and took decisions on matters including faculty recruitment, infrastructure development, curriculum revisions, and safety protocols. Members from the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, the Armed Forces Division, the Bangladesh Air Force, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Dhaka University, BUET, and the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh participated alongside AAUB representatives.
