Tk27,484cr proposed for power and energy sector
The fresh allocation is 12.1% of total Annual Development Programme (ADP)
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has proposed an allocation of Tk27,484 crore for the power and energy sector in the upcoming fiscal year.
He placed the budget proposal before the national parliament on Thursday.
In the outgoing fiscal, allocation for the Power Division and Energy & Mineral Resources Division was Tk26,758 crore. The fresh allocation is 12.1% of total Annual Development Programme (ADP).
While placing the national budget, the finance minister also proposed to encourage and support setting up of biogas plants and solar panels on a group basis to increase the supply of electricity and energy in villages, and making those facilities more reliable.
