National Pension Authority income, earnings from universal pension scheme to be tax-free

The income of the National Pension Authority and any income received by beneficiaries from the universal pension scheme under the National Pension Authority has been proposed to be made tax-free.
Finance Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed made the announcement during the budget speech delivered today (2 June).
He also proposed making tax free the income derived from Zero Coupon Islamic Investment Certificates.
"In addition to spouses, parents, and children, siblings [brothers and sisters] have also been included under the scope of tax-exempt donations," he said.
