Trust Bank launches UnionPay debit, credit cards to expand global payment services
Through the initiative, Trust Bank reiterated its commitment to innovation in banking, customer-focused services, and the development of the country’s digital financial ecosystem.
Trust Bank PLC has launched UnionPay debit and credit cards, aiming to enhance its global payment solutions and offer greater benefits to customers.
The cards were officially unveiled yesterday (26 April) at an event in Dhaka by the bank's chairman and Bangladesh Army Chief Waqar-uz-Zaman. Among others present were Vice Chairman and Adjutant General of the Bangladesh Army Md Hossain Al Morshed, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank Nurun Nahar, CEO of UnionPay International Larry Wang, and Managing Director and CEO of Trust Bank Ahsan Zaman Chowdhury.
Officials said the introduction of UnionPay cards marks a significant milestone in expanding the bank's international payment network. Customers will be able to use the cards both at home and abroad across UnionPay's global network, with benefits including seamless international transactions, payment of medical expenses and tuition fees, access to airport lounges, and other lifestyle privileges.
Speaking at the event, Chairman Waqar-uz-Zaman said Trust Bank's partnership with UnionPay International reflects its effort to provide advanced and secure banking services in line with the digital era.
He noted that the cards would facilitate convenient and globally accepted financial transactions for a wide range of users, including Bangladeshi students, patients seeking medical treatment abroad, and businesspeople.
