Probashi Kallyan Bank distributes Tk4cr loan cheques to 138 expatriate families

Probashi Kallyan Bank has distributed cheques for Tk4 crore to the families of 138 expatriate workers under "Bangabandhu Immigrant Large Family Loan" on the occasion of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's birth centenary.

Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmed distributed the cheques as the chief guest at a function organised by the bank at the conference room of the ministry at 4 pm on Wednesday, said a press release issued by Probashi Kallyan Bank.

Ahmed Munirush Salehin, secretary of the expatriates' welfare ministry and chairman of the bank; Md Najibul Islam and Sheikh Shoaibul Alam, additional secretaries of the ministry; and Md Jahangir Hossain,  general manager of Probashi Kallyan Bank along with other officials of the bank were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Imran Ahmed MP said the government is taking various steps for the welfare of expatriate workers. Following this, the bank is providing this loan facility to the migrant returnees.

The minister urged the returnee expatriates to contact the ministry directly if they face any difficulty in obtaining the loan and also urged them not to go to brokers for this.

The minister further added, "We hope we will be able to increase the disbursement of these loans by March."

In his speech, Secretary Ahmed Munirush Salehin said the government is taking various initiatives for the welfare of expatriate workers through this bank, Wage Earners Welfare Board and BMET.
