Prime Bank trains employees on fighting money laundering
The bank organised a virtual training on combating money laundering and financing of terrorism

Prime Bank recently organised a day-long virtual training on 'Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT)'.
The training was jointly organised by the Bank's AML and CFT Division, and Human Resource Training & Development Center, read a press release issued on Monday.
The Bank conducted a virtual training to maintain social distancing amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, added the press release.
Rahel Ahmed, managing director and CEO of Prime Bank, inaugurated the virtual training workshop, while Chowdhury MAQ Sarwar, independent consultant, conducted the training.
Md Touhidul Alam Khan, deputy managing director and chief anti money laundering & compliance officer; Md Iqbal Hossain, deputy chief anti money laundering & compliance officer and head of the division; and Ziaur Rahman, head of HR, Prime Bank, were also present in the workshop.
More than 150 officials of the Bank, including members of Central Compliance Committee (CCC) and senior officials of different divisions were also in attendance.
According to the press release, Prime Bank regularly organises AML and CFT Training in accordance with policy regulations of Bangladesh Bank.
AML and CFT have emerged as critically important risk issues in the global financial arena. Regular training helps employees in their capacity development and professional careers, thereby increasing their awareness and better equipping them to tackle such high-risk issues, added the press release.
