Akhtar Hossain appointed chief economist at Bangladesh Bank

The Bangladesh Bank has appointed Mohammad Akhtar Hossain as chief economist.
His contractual appointment came into effect from 1 July, which will continue for two years until 30 June 2027, said a central bank office order.
Akhtar's employment will be governed by the terms and conditions specified in the contract signed with the Bangladesh Bank on 1 July.
