AB Bank Chairman Khairul Alam resigns

AB Bank Chairman Khairul Alam Chowdhury has resigned from his post.
Khairul announced his resignation at the board of directors meeting on 1 May, a senior official of AB Bank confirmed to The Business Standard today (4 May).
"Two new directors may join and one of them may be appointed as chairman," the official said.
"There are discussions about appointing a former managing director, who has previously held key positions in both local and international banks, as the next chairman."
The official also said Khairul cited personal reasons, including increased professional workload, as the cause of his resignation.
Khairul had been serving as the bank's chairman since August 2022 and is a senior advocate of the Bangladesh Supreme Court.
