3 BB officials transferred after being show-caused over remarks about governor
Nawshad Mostafa has been transferred from the Bangladesh Bank head office to its Barishal office, Masum Billah to Rangpur, and Golam Mostafa Srabon to the Bogura office.
Three officials of Bangladesh Bank have been transferred after being served show-cause notices for holding a press conference in which they described BB Governor Ahsan H Mansur as an "autocrat".
The transfers were made today (24 February) through an order issued by the central bank's Human Resources Department.
The officials are Nawshad Mostafa, general secretary of the Bangladesh Bank's 'Neel Dal' and director of the SME and Special Programmes Department; AKM Masum Billah, president of the Bangladesh Bank Officers' Welfare Council elected from Neel Dal; and its general secretary Golam Mostafa Shraban.

According to media reports, a press conference was organised on 16 February, where the three officials spoke.
At the briefing, they described the governor as an "autocrat" over various issues, including initiatives to merge weak banks with EXIM Bank and Social Islami Bank, as well as the process of granting digital bank licences.
