Bafeda elects new executive committee

Md Ataur Rahman Prodhan, CEO and managing director of Sonali Bank Limited, has been unanimously elected as Chairman of Bangladesh Foreign Exchange Dealers' Association (Bafeda).

The election of Office Bearers (Executive Committee) for two years term, 2021 and 2022, of (BAFEDA) was held through a virtual meeting on Sunday.

Dr Mohammad Haider Ali Miah, managing director (MD) and CEO of Export Import Bank of Bangladesh Limited, Md Mahbub ul Alam, MD and CEO of Islamic Bank Bangladesh Limited were elected as vice chairman and treasurer of Bafeda respectively.

The other members of the executive committee are Mohammad Shams Ul Islam, MD and CEO of Agrani Bank Limited, Md Obayed Ullah Al-Masud, CEO and MD of Rupali Bank Limited, Md Abdus Salam Azad, CEO and MD of Janata Bank Limited, Md Ali Hossain Pradhania, MD of Bangladesh Krishi Bank, Naser Ezaz Bijoy, chief executive officer of Standard Chartered Bank, and Md Shafiul Azam, MD and CEO of Modhumoti Bank Ltd. 

Syed Waseque Md Ali, MD and CEO of First Security Islami Bank Limited, was Chairman of the election board of Bafeda.

Other members of the Election Board were Md Abdul Halim Chowdhury, MD and CEO of Pubali Bank Limited; and Quazi Osman Ali, MD and CEO of Social Islami Bank Ltd.
