Biman apologised to passengers for the temporary inconvenience caused by the suspension and sought their patience and cooperation.
Meanwhile, flight cancellations have left passengers uncertain about their travel plans. Many have waited for hours at the airport, while others are worried about when they will be able to travel.
Rakibul Hasan, a resident of Manikganj, was scheduled to travel to Saudi Arabia on a Riyadh Air flight tomorrow. However, the suspension of the flight has left him worried about when he will be able to depart. He has also contacted his recruiting agency to find out whether the delay could affect his job.
Speaking to The Business Standard, Abdul Quader, owner of a recruiting agency, said, "I have informed the workers that there is no reason to worry. Since this is an issue on the Saudi side, they have assured us that his job will not be affected. We will send the workers through an alternative route or once the situation improves."
Earlier today, US-Bangla Airlines suspended all its Dhaka-Riyadh-Dhaka flights until 21 October following the closure of the Riyadh airport amid repeated Houthi attacks.
According to media reports, operations at the airport had been repeatedly suspended and resumed following a series of attacks originating from Yemen.
The disruptions have affected air connectivity between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia, creating uncertainty for passengers travelling between the two countries.
