19 flights cancelled in two days at Ctg airport amid Middle East war
13 inbound and 10 outbound international passenger flights from different airlines operated as scheduled.
Flight operations at Chattogram's Shah Amanat International Airport continue to face disruptions as escalating tensions in the Middle East impact air connectivity, with 19 international flights cancelled over the past two days.
According to a press bulletin issued today (6 April) by the airport authorities, a total of 19 flights, both arrivals and departures were cancelled on 4 and 5 April.
Among the affected carriers, Biman Bangladesh Airlines cancelled four inbound flights from the Middle East and three outbound flights. US-Bangla Airlines cancelled two arrivals and two departures on the same routes.
Two arrivals and two departures operated by Air Arabia from Sharjah were also cancelled, alongside two arrivals and two departures by SalamAir.
Despite the disruption, operations did not come to a complete halt. Over the two days, 13 inbound and 10 outbound international passenger flights from different airlines operated as scheduled.
Airport officials said flight suspensions on key Middle East routes, particularly from Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi by Air Arabia, SalamAir and US-Bangla Airlines remain unchanged.
Since the escalation of the Middle East war on 28 February, disruptions have intensified.
With the latest cancellations, the total number of international flights cancelled at the Chattogram airport has reached 264 over the past 37 days.
Authorities said the situation remains uncertain, with operations likely to depend on further developments in the region.
