Ports closed, ferry services suspended
As cyclone Bulbul approaches, river ports are closed and ferry services have been suspended

All local Bangladeshi airlines have cancelled domestic flights of Dhaka, Chittagong, Jessore and Cox's Bazar scheduled for afternoon and evening today.
All flights to and from the Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram have been suspended from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning because of Cyclone Bulbul.
However, AHN Towhid-ul Ahsan, director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport confirmed that the airport in Dhaka is operational.
A senior executive of the Civil Aviation Authority said that all international flights scheduled to depart from Chattogram will now depart from Dhaka.
Loading and unloading of goods from mother vessels at the outer anchorage of Chattogram port have been suspended due to extreme weather from Friday evening, according to the Water Transport Cell and the Chittagong Port Authority.
Operations at Mongla Port have been halted after the warning signal was raised. Operations in Payra Port have also been halted.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) suspended the operation of all river vessels until further notice.
The government has also cancelled the holidays on November 9 and 10 for all employees of the Department of Engineering, Public Health Engineering and local government institutes in 13 coastal districts to tackle cyclone Bulbul.
The Education Ministry has postponed the Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examination of November 11 as cyclonic storm Bulbul approaches.
The JSC exam of November 11 will be held on November 13 while the JDC exam of the same day will be held on November 16
Kolkata airport is also closed from Saturday 6pm to Sunday 6am. All ferry services in and around Kolkata have also been suspended.
