An embankment at Kakchira area of Patharghata upazila reportedly broke down due to high tides

An elderly woman died at DN College shelter centre in Barguna Sadar upazila last night.
Halima Khatun, 65, who hailed from Banai village of the Sadar upazila, reportedly died from old age complications.
Gusty winds uprooted hundreds of trees causing them to block the road communications in the cyclone-hit areas and many houses are destroyed both entirely and partially.
An embankment at Kakchira area of Patharghata upazila reportedly broke down due to high tides, leaving several villages inundated.
Besides, 15 fishermen of FB Tarikul Trawler owned by Nazrul Islam, resident of Nandigram in Barguna Sadar upazila, are still missing.
However, the six coastal upazilas under Barguna district started to experience inclement weather and water level increase since the early morning.
Barguna District Administrator Mostain Billah said, "We have not heard of any casualties yet but our district and upazila administration have started to measure the damage."
