Bangladesh began its Covid-19 vaccination campaign by inoculating five government officials at Kurmitola General Hospital in the capital today.
Nurse Runu Veronica Costa is the first Covid-19 vaccine receiver in Bangladesh.
Followed by her, four more government officials: Dr Ahmed Lutful Moben, Professor Dr Nasima Sultana, Police officer Didarul Islam and Brigadier General M Imran Hamid were vaccinated first today.

"I am not feeling unwell," Professor Dr Nasima Sultana said in her reaction after 30 minutes of receiving Covid jab.
"We, the front liners, have been working since March. As an official of the health department, I wanted to help the people by giving information and advice after receiving the vaccine," Professor Dr Nasima added.
"If the vaccine is given, the place becomes reddish, may cause nausea and body temperature may rise, which is normal. It is not correct that taking the vaccine will cause serious kind of side effects," Dr Nasima assured.
"Fifteen minutes have passed since I've received the dose and there are no side effects," said renowned dentist Dr Arup Ratan Chowdhury.
"The vaccine has come as a blessing for us. I took it, others should take it too," Dr Ratan added.
