The lockdown will be enforced within 48 to 72 hours after completing mapping of the red zone areas in the city.

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam said this while talking to reporters at the Nagar Bhaban today.

The mayor said 17 areas of DNCC will be placed under lockdown. "We will go for enforcement of lockdown as soon as receiving the mapping identified by the relevant organizations," said the mayor.

"I urge the Director General of Health Department to demark the areas which have been included in the red zone because the government will support the families under the lockdown areas in case of any emergency cases," Atiqul added.
