General Aziz has expressed gratitude for India's commendable cooperation in tackling the global Covid-19 pandemic. He hoped that India would stand by Bangladesh in resolving the Rohingya crisis.

During the meeting, MM Naravane handed over one lakh doses of Covid-19 Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine to General Aziz.

Earlier, General Naravane paid homage to the memory of the heroic martyrs of the great war of independence of Bangladesh by laying a wreath at Shikha Anirban in Dhaka Cantonment in the afternoon.

He was then given a "Guard of Honour" by a smart team of the Bangladesh Army at Senakunja. Later, he planted trees there.

The three-member delegation led by General Naravane arrived in Dhaka on Tuesday morning on a five-day state visit. During the visit, the Indian Army Chief will participate in the "Army Chiefs Conclave" to be held on 11 April in Dhaka Cantonment.

Notably,  on the occasion of the centenary of Sheikh Mujib's birth and the golden jubilee of independence, Shantir Agroshena is being conducted under the overall management of the Bangladesh Army from April 4-12.

The most significant chapter of the exercise is the "Army Chiefs Conclave" which will be attended by the heads of the various UN peacekeeping missions and distinguished guests, including the Army Chiefs of the participating countries.

The Indian delegation will leave Bangladesh on 13 April.
