Grameen Telecom donates PPE to volunteers, ambulance service providers
The safety equipment was provided to Al-Markazul Islami Bangladesh and the Dhaka Ambulance Owners’ Cooperative Society
Non-profit-company Grameen Telecom has given Al Markazul Islami Bangladesh: 1,000 personal protective equipment (PPE) suits, 2,000 face masks, 250 sets of protective goggles, and 2,000 gloves.
Additionally, the company has provided the Dhaka Metropolitan Ambulance Owners Cooperative Society 2,000 PPE suits.
A Grameen Telecom press release, Friday, said the company has provided 42,000 PPE suits, 36,000 KN-95 masks, 160,000 surgical masks, 5,000 protective goggles and 35,000 gloves to various hospitals organisations so far.

Al-Markazul Islami Bangladesh has been playing an important role during the novel coronavirus pandemic by performing last rites of the deceased. Meanwhile, ambulance service providers are working round-the-clock to transport patients to medical facilities.
Grameen Telecom said both organisations have been performing their respective duties with great commitment and devotion and the company stands by them in a bid to ensure their health safety.
"Since the outbreak of novel coronavirus in Bangladesh, Grameen Telecom has been distributing personal protective gear to medical personnel and it has covered more than 50 hospitals and institutions so far," the press release added.
