Dr Anwarul Karim dies of coronavirus

A life member of the Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) and Director of Nibedita Shishu Hospital, paediatrician Dr Md Anwarul Karim has died of coronavirus.

He breathed his last at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Asgar Ali Hospital in the capital around 3pm on Friday due to coronavirus infection, says a BMA press release.

He was 61 years old at the time of his death and left behind his family members, friends and a host of admirers.

BMA prayed for the forgiveness of his departed soul and extended their deepest condolences to the bereaved family, the press release added.

Dr Md Anwarul Karim was a student of Sir Salimullah Medical College.

With this, 120 doctors and two dental surgeons have died so far from Covid-19 in the country, according to the BMA press release.
